{"id":8838,"date":"2026-05-21T06:57:37","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T06:57:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lawsandlegals.com\/english\/?p=8838"},"modified":"2026-05-21T06:57:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T06:57:38","slug":"rajasthan-high-court-to-conduct-hearings-via-video-conferencing-on-select-dates-to-promote-fuel-conservation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lawsandlegals.com\/english\/rajasthan-high-court-to-conduct-hearings-via-video-conferencing-on-select-dates-to-promote-fuel-conservation\/","title":{"rendered":"Rajasthan High Court to Conduct Hearings via Video Conferencing on Select Dates to Promote Fuel Conservation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jodhpur<\/strong>: In a significant step towards fuel conservation and adoption of simplicity measures, the Rajasthan High Court has announced that court proceedings at both the Jodhpur Principal Seat and Jaipur Bench will be conducted through video conferencing on May 22, 26 and 27, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An official notice issued by the Registrar General stated that the decision has been taken following directions issued by the Supreme Court and the Governments Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), which called for reduction in fuel consumption, avoidance of unnecessary travel and implementation of simplicity measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the notice, the decision was taken after discussions with the Jodhpur and Jaipur Bar Associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The High Court clarified that court proceedings will continue to take place from the respective courtrooms, but advocates and litigants will be encouraged to join hearings virtually through video conferencing facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The order also urged lawyers and other stakeholders to minimise unnecessary travel to courts and adopt vehicle pooling or carpooling arrangements in order to conserve fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, the High Court made it clear that physical hearings have not been restricted.
