New Delhi:<\/strong> Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP from Buxar, Sudhakar Singh, has approached the Supreme Court seeking an independent investigation into the financial affairs of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which manages the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Public Interest Litigation (PIL), filed through Advocate Satyam Singh Rajput and Advocate-on-Record Jaswanthi A, sought judicial intervention following recent allegations of financial irregularities involving the Trust, including claims of misappropriation, an ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, and the reported recovery of a \u20b977 lakh cash trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the petition, the plea is confined to the Trust\u2019s secular financial administration and does not seek any interference with religious practices, temple rituals, or matters of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the key reliefs sought, the petitioner has requested the Supreme Court to transfer the ongoing investigation from the state police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), with the probe to be monitored by the apex court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PIL also sought the appointment of a temporary court-monitored Oversight Committee comprising retired judicial officers and financial experts to supervise the Trust\u2019s financial affairs until the investigation is completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the petition urged the court to direct the preservation of all financial records, including physical documents, digital data, bank statements, and UPI transaction logs, to prevent any possible tampering during the course of the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The petitioner has further sought restrictions on the Trust from making major financial decisions, executing substantial contracts, or undertaking large investments without prior approval of the proposed Oversight Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PIL also requests the court to order a comprehensive forensic audit of all donations, financial transactions, and assets of the Trust by an independent and credible agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the interest of public accountability, the petitioner has sought directions requiring the Trust to publish audited financial statements and donation records on its official website, making them accessible to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
