(Hons.) course at National Law University, Jodhpur, under the Rajasthan domicile category.

The Court held that allowing a candidate to change the reservation category after the prescribed deadline would disrupt the admission process and affect other candidates.

After first counseling she realised

The petitioner had secured All India Rank (AIR) in the General category. It did not permit a change in the reservation category after the correction deadline.
One seat vacant only protective manner.

The Court also noted that although one seat at NLU Jodhpur had been kept vacant pursuant to an earlier interim order, that order did not create a right to admission. The seat had been kept vacant only as a protective measure pending the final decision.

The Court observed that allowing a reservation category to be changed after the result could affect the merit list, other selected candidates and seat allotments.

Court further held that a candidate must remain vigilant and correct the application within the time provided by the examining authority.

Holding that there was no legal error in rejecting the petitioner’s request, the High Court dismissed the petition.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has refused to allow a CLAT 2026 candidate to change her reservation category from Unreserved-Women to General Category-Rajasthan Domicile (GC-RJ) after the application correction deadline and declaration of the result.
