Jodhpur<\/strong>: During the Sri Vijaynagar Municipality Chairperson election, a serious incident was reported, with allegations that a councillor Vijay Kumar Tanna was abducted at gunpoint while on his way to cast his vote, prompting the Rajasthan High Court to intervene and extend the voting deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n High Court has ordered the police to recover missing councillor Vijay Kumar Tanna by 4 PM and ensure that he is able to cast his vote by 5 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The directions came during the hearing of a habeas corpus petition filed by Shashi, wife of Tanna, who alleged that her husband was forcibly taken away at gunpoint while he was on his way to participate in the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A Division Bench of Dr. Justice Nupur Bhati and Justice Baljinder Singh took serious note of the allegations and directed the Sri Ganganagar SP to ensure the councillor\u2019s recovery within the stipulated time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Chairperson election was originally scheduled to take place between 10 AM and 2 PM.
