Two-Day Festival Brings Law, Culture, Art and Creativity Together; Students Showcase Legal Knowledge and Talent
Jaipur: Kanoria School of Law for Women, Jaipur, hosted its first-ever two-day law festival, ‘Jashn-e-Juris 2026,’ on August 10 and 11, bringing together law, culture, art, entertainment and creativity on a single platform. The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their legal knowledge alongside their artistic and creative talents.
The inaugural ceremony began with addresses by Mansi Chaudhary and Soha Aziz Khan, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by Director Dr. Rashmi Chaturvedi, Principal Dr. Vartika Arora and Shiprak Khandel. Students Sonal, Nikita, Saavi and Parul presented a Ganesh Vandana.
Six Competitions Held on Day One
Principal Dr. Vartika Arora described the college’s first law festival as a significant achievement, while Director Dr. Rashmi Chaturvedi said such events create memorable experiences for students.
The first day featured six competitions, beginning with ‘Alfaaz-e-Manch’ Open Mic, where students performed songs, flute, harmonica, poetry and shayari. Judge Shiprak Khandel appreciated the participants’ creativity and stage confidence and offered suggestions on voice modulation and emotional expression.
The ‘Vogue Verdict’ Fashion Show, themed ‘Elemental Odyssey,’ saw students present outfits inspired by natural elements including fire, water, earth, air, trees and the sun. Face Painting, ‘The Silent Verdict’ Legal Charades, ‘Step Up’ Dance Battle and the ‘Ilm-e-Kanoon’ Legal Quiz were also held.
The dance battle featured performances ranging from Ghoomar and Bharatanatyam to contemporary hip-hop, while the legal quiz tested participants on law, constitutional provisions, important judicial decisions, current legal issues and general awareness.
Legal Quiz and Treasure Hunt Mark Day Two
The second day featured the second and third rounds of the ‘Ilm-e-Kanoon’ Legal Quiz, with the top 10 teams advancing after the preliminary round. Students faced questions on law, the Constitution, landmark judicial decisions and contemporary legal issues, testing their legal knowledge, coordination and quick decision-making skills.
A ‘Treasure Hunt’ was also organised, requiring teams to solve clues, puzzles and hidden hints placed across the campus. The competition brought an element of excitement while testing students’ logical reasoning, teamwork and decision-making abilities.
Folk Singer Meenakshi Rathore Graces Valedictory Ceremony
The festival concluded with a prize distribution and closing ceremony attended by renowned Rajasthani folk singer, lyricist and production house director Meenakshi Rathore as the Chief Guest. Winners and runners-up were felicitated with trophies and certificates.
Addressing the students, Rathore encouraged them to remain persistent until they achieve their goals. She emphasised the importance of women’s independence and self-reliance, while highlighting how legal education helps individuals become mature and equips them to face challenges in life with confidence.
A Celebration Beyond Legal Education
The event was conducted by Semester 10 students, who managed the various stages of the programme. Assistant Professor Dr. Tejaswi Sharma delivered the vote of thanks.
With law at its core and art, culture, creativity and entertainment woven into the celebrations, ‘Jashn-e-Juris 2026’ provided students with a platform to develop and showcase their confidence, leadership, teamwork and creative thinking. Student stalls, a nail-art corner and recreational games were among the other attractions during the two-day festival.
