Dr. Michelle Corral Leads Transformative Mission at Bidibidi Refugee Settlement

Dr. Michelle Corral Leads Transformative Mission at Bidibidi Refugee Settlement:American philanthropist, prophetess, and televangelist Dr. Michelle Corral has concluded a high-impact humanitarian and spiritual mission in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, West Nile, before returning to the United States.

The mission was hosted by Jesus Cares Developmental Organisation (JCDO) under Bishop John Matogo Babu, in partnership with Breath of the Spirit Ministries, Chessed Charity, and Heal the Planet Global Organisation (HTP). It combined faith-based renewal with life-saving interventions, reaching thousands of refugees living near the South Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo borders.

A Blend of Spiritual and Humanitarian Impact
The program opened with a landmark Pastors and Leaders Conference that attracted more than 1,000 clergy from across the settlement and surrounding districts. Dr. Corral’s teachings encouraged unity among denominations and strengthened leadership capacity. Delegates described the gathering as “life-transforming,” with many committing to renewed ministry and community service.

Beyond the spiritual revival, the mission prioritized health and nutrition. A two-day medical camp attended by over 815 refugees provided free consultations, treatment, and medicines, saving lives and restoring hope. In another highlight, more than 10,000 refugees, including children and the elderly, were served a hot meal—an event met with joy and deep gratitude from families.

Recognizing rising food insecurity after reductions in UNHCR rations, Dr. Corral also launched a weekly household food distribution program targeting 150 of the most vulnerable families. The intervention follows disturbing reports of more than 10 suicides and at least 30 attempted suicides in the settlement linked to hunger.

Voices of Gratitude
Local pastors and leaders welcomed the initiative as both timely and unifying. Pastor Anthony Felix of Antioch World Harvest Church said the conference was a monumental gathering:

“Dr. Michelle’s prophetic message brought hope and reassurance, reminding us that God is working to transform South Sudan and the region.”

Refugee families also expressed gratitude for the gifts, medical care, and food supplies, calling the mission a visible demonstration of compassion and faith.

Commitment to Advocacy
Speaking at Entebbe International Airport before departure, where she was seen off by Dr. Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, President of Heal the Planet Global Organisation and coordinator of her African missions, Dr. Corral pledged to push for greater international support.

“For the first time, I am going to become an advocate. I am going to lobby the U.S. Government to support refugees in Uganda,” she said.

She also commended Uganda’s Office of the Prime Minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the diplomatic reception and permissions extended during her visit.

According to Bishop John Matogo Babu, the mission delivered aid worth USD 200,000, transported in 50 duffle bags. He praised the partnership of Breath of the Spirit Ministries, Chessed Charity, and Heal the Planet, saying:

“Your support has changed lives, brought hope to the hopeless, and demonstrated the love of Christ in a practical way.”

Organizers underscored the need for long-term collaborations to address food insecurity in refugee settlements, urging governments, humanitarian agencies, and individuals of goodwill to join efforts in saving lives and restoring dignity to vu
