Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant on Saturday strongly advocated for a unified judicial policy across the country, stating that India’s judicial system must function on uniform standards and procedures to ensure consistency, transparency, and timely justice.
Addressing the inaugural session of the West Zone Regional Judicial Conference in Jaisalmer, the CJI noted that different High Courts currently follow varied procedures and technological systems. He emphasized that the time has come to move beyond state-specific practices and adopt a national perspective on justice delivery.
“Technology has eliminated geographical barriers. Justice should no longer be confined to regional systems but viewed as a unified national framework,” Justice Surya Kant said. He added that the effective use of technology would not only enhance transparency in the justice system but also make access to justice faster and easier for common citizens.
